The power system scale is expanding,it’s security, economic and quality operationbecomes more and more important. Voltage is an important index of weighing the quality ofelectric energy, Voltage fluctuation is too large, will endanger the safe and stable operationof the system, even can cause voltage collapse. Automatic voltage control isthe automatic control system of modern power grid, has the function to improve the quality ofnetwork voltage, reduce the net loss, increase the stability reserve and reduce laborintensity of operator, can ensure grid safety and economic running quality.In this paper, the practical application of automatic voltage control technology andcombining AVC of Hengyun thermal power plant, in depth analysis and analysis, discussesthe necessity of implementing AVC system in power plant, established the rebuilding ofAVC Hengyun Power Plant, install configuration, principle of pressure adjustment, softwaresettings and test site, and by comparing the data before and after the installation ofAVC analysis conclusion, AVC for improving the area of power quality, improve thesystem of economic benefit is very important.
