With the rapid development of telecommunication construction in China,constructive project contractors propose higher and higher requirements on completion rate.Meanwhile,because of large number of constructive projects,it is quite common that several projects are carried out simultaneously,which means construction unit has to complete heavy tasks in very short time.This has become the main constraint keeping them from making proper profits.Under such circumstance,it has been a common goal pursuing by construction units that is delivering project on time with the cost under a certain limitation.When it comes to multi-projects management,those conventional management methods have their limitations of taking resource constrains out of consideration.Critical chain theory can perfectly solve this problem.Critical chain can not only reduce estimated time of working process through the buffer area,but also can take the resource constraints into consideration.It is regarded as an upgrade on conventional progress and plan management under the limitation of resources.Through literature and document analysis,this thesis reviews lots of researches on the critical chain theory and the multi-project management method proposed in recent years,and summarizes their achievements and failures.By comparing with CPM,CCPM shows advantage in IT industry projects.The thesis sets an example of company S,which simultaneously manages three projects,to illustrate the use of CCPM.The project priorities are determined by delivery punishment function;the critical chain under the restriction of project resource is determined by heuristic algorithm.Therefore,three separated project critical chains without any resource confliction are formed.Finally,buffer areas of the three projects can be calculated,and the shortest total project duration can be set.CCMP can be used to optimize scheduling in multi-project management,to make proper and efficient use of resource,and to shorten the time of each working procedure.It has a guiding significance for the management of telecommunication enterprises.
