The management investigation is the most important survey and technology in forest resource survey,it can provides information of forest resources and ecological conditions for the forest resources management timely and accurately,and supply a significant basis for the scientific management of forest resources.According to the aim and task of the management investigation,the study ascertained the area and object of survey and used the modern investigation method on RS and GIS,to proceed the interpretation of remote sensing,collection of plot vector data,establishment of database,drawing of thematic maps and so on,in addition,it analyzed and estimated current situation of the forest resource in Tunxi District.The main research results are as follows:(1)The study used the function modules of ENVI5.0 to proceed the radiometric calibration,atmospheric correction,geometric correction of remote sensing image,elected the band(3,4,2)as the best combination,merged the multi-spectral image and panchromatic image together and used linear strength method to enhance image,which benefited the visual interpretation of the management investigation and insured the interpretation accuracy of the polygon area.(2)According to the essential data which came from the forest land protection and utilization planning of Tunxi District in 2012 and the SPOT5 remote sensing images in 2012 and 2013,the study proceeded the interpretation of remote sensing for the land information of plots,spread the field survey for the plots of which land category had changed,established the topological relation among the plot polygon,village polygon and town polygon with ArcMap10.0,elected the means of vector overlay to analyze the polygon,examined and corrected the topological errors.(3)The study inputted the plot attributive data from the survey and examined the logical error by the software of forest resources management,and connected the spatial data and attributive data by the “Jion” tool after created the connective field—cadastre number,to gain a second class database combined with the spatial attribution and forest investigative attribution,which could provided a platform for the dynamic management and monitoring of forest resources information.(4)The forest resources data was counted and exported in this study,and the conclusions is summed up as follows: the total area of district is 13940.0 ha,the area of forest land is 4618.7 ha,the area of bamboo forest is 272.1 ha,the area of shrub land is 522.5 ha,the area of new plantation is 277.3 ha,the area of bald woodland is28.5 ha,and the area of forest fitting land is 16.6 ha,the standing stock volume of the whole district is 395208 m3,the quantity of bamboo is 2496000,the forest coverage rate and green rate is 38.56% and 41.19%.(5)Compared with the result of forest resources management survey in 2004,we can known: the forest category structure of Tunxi District is fit for the situation of the district,but the forest species structure is simplex,the area of forest land has increased,among it,the increasing range of the woodland is large,but the area of shrub land and new plantation is reduced,the stock volume is obviously increased,the forest coverage rate and green rate have improved as well.
