Studies On Establishment And Application Of Forest Resource Geographical Information Database On County Level

Forestry department obtain basic data and form map in counties mostly through the second class investigation of forest resource,but the updating and utilizing of the data is still rest on the phase of conventional handcraft,especially on the drawing of the forest mapping;moreover,the categorical data and the spacial data is detached each other. The data resource is wasted largely,but also efficiency is low,because of a mass of manpower,material resources and fund etc are used to abtain the data.It is obvious that the method of conventional forest management is logging hereinbefore. Taking the center district of Guangyuan city as an example in this paper,the maps's scan vector,compilation,error emendation,putting them together are studied by using the homegrown excellence GIS software of MAPGIS. then,realizing the close connection between the spacial dada and the categorical data that is stored in the database of foxpro2.5 already. Namely,forest resource spacial geographic information database is established. In addition,the application of forest resource geographic information database is studied partly,such as the mapping of the forest subject maps,querying and updating of the data ,spacial data analyzing etc. At last,several problems about the setting of database and application are studied and some advices of solving the problems are brought forward also.Through the studies on establishment and application of forest resource geographic information database on county level. This paper is important and helpful for the forestry department in counties to make correct decision,enhance work efficiency and realize the informational management etc.
