To establish nature reserves is important measure for protecting the ecological environment and natural resources. Community co-management plays an essential role in the management of nature reserves. On one hand, it can promote the sustainable use of natural resources in the development of community and reduce the destruction of resources in protected areas. On the other hand, it helps the community to develop the economy and improve the living standards. Besides, it coordinates the development of community economy and the protection of biodiversity. Meanwhile, it can promote community residents to positively participate in the protection and management of the protected areas.Taking Moon Mountain Nature Reserve as the research object, this article adopted PRA and questionnaires methods to carry out this study in communities of this area. Based on that, the community co-management model was constructed to provide scientific basis for sustainable development of nature reserve and communities. The main results were as follows:To have an overall understanding about the basic features of the local community,140 households of 3 communities in the nature reserve were chosen randomly as the samples. The results were showed as follows: The community residents' general educational level were low and female's educational level were lower than male's;The single energy structure mainly based on firewood and other traditional energies; Its principal sources of income were working output, crop farming and aquaculture;Unsound ecological compensation mechanism; Compared with other communities, the resettlement community owned a diversified energy structure, higher per capita income and diversified economic resources, but there were still some problems, such as the under-developed economy, the hard life of the aged, and the unsatisfactory employment situation etc. From the correlation between fuel wood use and the family economic status, the fuel wood use was closely correlated with the number of farmers, per capita income and non-farming income. By adopting the Logistic regression analysis, the factors which influence the willingness of residents to support the establishment of nature reserve indicated that community residents' age and education level were the significant factors. The elder the residents grow, the more inactive to the establishment of nature reserve; the higher educational level of residents, the more support to the establishment of nature reserve.Based on these results, this paper built the ecotourism model of community co-management which can be adapted to the Moon Mountain area. Firstly, the feasibility of this model was proved by SWOT analysis. Then, the aims, principles, management system, interest coordinating mechanism, conflict coordinating mechanism, incentives and impact assessment mechanism of community co-management model were specifically expounded. By building this model of community co-management which can provide a scientific basis for the management and development of the Moon Mountain Nature Reserve and achieve a stable and long-term sustainable development between the nature reserve and the community.
