Research Of Current Pesticide Application And Food Safety Issues

Pesticide application is not only the inevitable choice of modern civilization, but also the guarantee of sustainable development about current world agriculture. Pesticide application is essential in China which as a large agricultural country, but when we use pesticides to control crop pests and weeds, we encounter some problems of excessive pesticide residues that will directly affects the quality and safety of agricultural products. This paper analyzes the present situation of pesticide application at home and abroad and the current pesticide residues in food that may impact on food safety, mainly shown in the following aspects:(1) the public mood to resist pesticides produced; (2) Pesticide application often appears normative questions; (3) The confusion of pesticide production and sales market; (4) Lack of perfect supporting pesticide standard and advanced detection instruments; (5) Pesticide regulatory system is still not perfect; (6) Risks of emerging new pesticide ingredient. And based on this, we advance suggestions to solve these problems:(1) To enhance the propaganda about pesticide and its advantages and disadvantages to raise public awareness of pesticides; (2) To accelerate the the rural land circulation, gradually practice large-scale agricultural production, and train a large number of professional farmers engaged in agricultural production; (3) Strengthening pesticide access system to combat illegal production and counterfeit-line; (4) Development of practical standards for pesticide residues, improve and spread pesticide detection technology; (5) Integrating of regulatory functional department, carding pesticide control laws and regulations; (6) Using transgenic breeding techniques to breed resistant varieties, reducing the usage of pesticides.
