ObjectiveThe reason why human beings are desired for longevity is that senium and death are the unavoidable terminal point of our lives.Since ancient times,anti-aging has always been a popular topic, whether in TCM or in modern western medicine. The docters and scientists spend lots of time and energy in searching for the way to anti-aging,and there are considerable achievements. This research is hoping to make a contribution to the progress on anti-aging by taking the advantages of western medicine and Chinese medicine, which means traditional Chinese methods of prevention and treatment and modern test methods.D-galactose injection and Stress Inducing ways are used in this test to produce aged model mice influenced by external and internal factors, which are similar to aged human model.Behavior, thymus index and involved hormone of HPA axis are used to be the test index for evaluating how catgut embedding at Five zang-organs back-shu point influences the stress aged model mice.By elaborating synthetically the mechanism of anti-aging,this test is hoping to provide more evidence for further study concerned.MethodsSixty 3-month-old male SD Rats, weight 200-250gram,were evenly randomized into control group(Group A),D-galactose injection model group(Group B),D-galactose injection model and catgut embedding group(Group C),D-galactose injection model and stressed group(Group D),D-galactose injection model and catgut embedding stressed group(Group E).Mice(Group B,C,D,E)were given injection of D-D-galactose per day for eight weeks to induce aging model, while mice(Group A)were given injection of equal normal saline.Meanwhile, mice(Group D,E)were given mixed stimulation from the fifth week, once daily,28 days altogether.Mental state, hair form, weight and dietary amount of each mouse was recorded everyday.Eight weeks later, each group was respectively taken blood to test how the surum cortisol and plasma ACTH changed by using Enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay.Hypothalamic tissues and thymus gland were also taken for CRH test and thymus index measurement.Statistical method was taken to compare each data and SPSS13.0 was used for statistic analysis.Results1.The weight of rats in the model group was smaller than that in the blank control group(P<0.05),while the weight gain of the rats in the intervention group was larger than that in the model group and smaller than that in the control group(P<0.05).2.The thymus index of the model group was smaller than that of the blank control group(P<0.05),While the thymus index of the rats in the intervention group was larger than that in the model group and smaller than that in the control group(P<0.05).3.The levels of Corticotropin-releasing hormone,Adrenal cortex hormones and Serum cortisol in the model group were lower than those in the blank control group(P<0.05),while the three hormones in the intervention group were larger than the model group and smaller than the control group(P<0.05),and these data are statistically significant.Conclusion1.Catgut embedding at Five zang-organs back-shu point can slow down the aging process of body weight growing slow, low spirit, withered hair and other general behavioral performance.2.Catgut embedding at Five zang-organs back-shu point can slow down the aging process of the shrinking state of thymus.3.Catgut embedding at Five zang-organs back-shu point can inhibit the body HPA axis function hyperthyroidism caused by chronic stress.
