Objective: Our aims were to observe the therapeutic effect of Bushentiaojingtang plus letrozole on polycystic ovary syndrome patients with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation, and to explore the underlying mechanisms. Methods: Total 176 polycystic ovary syndrome patients with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation were recruited according to the inclusion criteria. The patients were randomly divided into observation group and matched group.Matched group: patients were treated with letrozole(2.5 mg QD)in the fifth day of the menstrual cycle or drug withdrawal bleeding for 5 days;Observation group: patients were treated with letrozole(2.5 mg QD)in the fifth day of the menstrual cycle or drug withdrawal bleeding for 5 days, and Bushentiaojingtang for 20 days. After 3-month course of treatment, symptomatic score of Chinese traditional medicine, ovulation rate, pregnancy rate,as well as hormone levels were evaluated. In combination treatment group,25 patients recovered,20 showed marked effect,15 showed effect, and 28 failed;while in control group,14 patients recovered,9 showed marked effect,16 showed effect, and 49 failed after 3 months treatment,.(P<0.05)There was no significant difference on symptomatic score of Chinese traditional medicine between the two groups before treatment. But the score decreased gradually after treatment. The decrease was more significant in combination treatment group(P<0.05).After treatment, through the palace can ovulation days film thickness monitoring, according to the observation group in the ovulation day intrauterine membrane thickness than before treatment, has obvious rise, also significantly greater than the control group of endometrial thickness of oviposit day.(P<0.05)After treatment,by measuring the blood flow pulsation index(PI),and blood flow resistance index(RI),the observation group compared with control group, obviously increase the blood flow and resistance decreased significantly,(P<0.05)Conclusion:The combination of Chinese traditional medicine and Western medicine was more effective on the therapy of polycystic ovary syndrome in patients with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation, which could be widely implemented. The underlying mechanism could be the regulation of hormones levels. |
