Objective: To study the clinical significance of serum interleukin-17A(IL-17A)and interleukin-17F(IL-17F)in patients with diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods: Sixty patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into three groups according to their albumin to creatinine ratio(ACR): 20 patients with normoalbuminuric diabetic(DM group),22 with microalbuminuric diabetic(DN1 group)and 18 with proteinuric diabetic(DN2 group).A total of 20 healthy subjects were selected as the control group(NC group).Serum IL-17 A,IL-17 F levels were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Related biochemical indicator were tested at the same time. Results: 1.Compared with DM and NC,serum IL-17 A levels increased in DN1 group((P<0.05).The level of serum IL-17 A was lower in DN2 than that in DN1 group. There was statistical difference in serum IL-17 A levels among four groups(P<0.05).However,there was no statistical significance in differences of IL-17 F in these groups(P>0.05).2.It was showed there was negative correlation between Serum IL-17 A levels with ACR,BUN,Cr,sUA,TG,LDL-C(r=-0.425,r=-0.396,r=-0.417,r=-0.332,r=-0.361,r=-0.383;P<0.05),and negative correlation between serum IL-17 F levels and ACR,Cr or LDL-C(r=-0.409,r=-0.365,r=-0.337;P<0.05)in DN patients, respectively. Conclusions: It is demonstrated that serum IL-17 A levels are closely related with DN,and might participate in the pathogenesis of DN.
