Objective: To observe clinical effects of decoction for promoting blood circulation and detoxication on the syndrome of blood stasis and toxin blocking collaterals in elderly patients with diabetic peripheral vascular disease.Methods: Cases(n=60)were randomly divided into treatment group(routine Western medicine treatment + decoction for promoting blood circulation and detoxication)and control group(routine Western medicine treatment).The course of treatment was 14 days in both groups.The curative effect of TCM syndrome scores,serum CRP levels,and hemodynamic changes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results: 1.Comparison of the curative effect of TCM syndrome scores: the main symptoms of the treatment group(limb numbness,tingling and burning sensation)and minor symptoms(limb acidosis and skin ecchymosis)in the treatment group were obviously improved(all P < 0.01),and were better than those in the control group(all P < 0.05).2.Comparison of serum CRP levels: the serum CRP levels in the treatment group was significantly decreased compared with the control group before and after treatment(all P < 0.05).3.Comparison of hemodynamics: the treatment group was better in hemodynamic improvement than the control group(P < 0.01).4.Safety indicators: the basic situation(blood pressure,heart rate,etc.)of patients in the two groups was stable;fasting blood glucose,postprandial blood glucose(2 hours)and glycosylated serum protein were significantly lower after treatment(all P < 0.05),and they were controlled in the normal range.In the two groups,routine blood test,routine urine test,routine stool test,liver and kidney function and coagulation function were normal before and after treatment.Conclusion: Decoction for promoting blood circulation and detoxication could improve clinical symptoms of syndrome of blood stasis and toxin blocking collaterals in elderly patients with diabetic peripheral vascular disease,lower serum CRP level and improve hemodynamic condition,which initially reveals that the mechanism of the decoction for promoting blood circulation and detoxication for improving clinical symptoms may be related to the alleviation of vascular inflammatory response and improvement of hemodynamics. |
