With the increase of academic co-activities in the world, dissertation hasbecame more and more important. And there is a larger demand fortranslation of dissertation from English to Chinese. As an important tooldescribing research results, dissertation has an unique style with its owncharacteristics in vocabulary and syntax.Translators are required to befamiliar with its linguistic features and translation skills and use those skills inthe translation.Based on my translation of Students'Academic Performance and VariousCognitive Processes of Learning: An Integrative Framework and EmpiricalAnalysis, this report described the original text,translating process and otherrelated things.This report consisted of four parts:description of this work andtranslating process, the principles of translation of dissertation, analysis ofexamples,and summarization.In the first part, I made a brief introductiontothis translation work, including the origin and the main idea of the originaltext.In the second part, I made an introduction to language characteristics andproper translation principles of English dissertation. In the third part?which isthe core part of this report, I discussed translation skills and method ofEnglish dissertation by analyzing the translation of Students'AcademicPerformance and Various Cognitive Processes of Learning: An IntegrativeFramework and Empirical Analysis. Finally, I summed up problems and mistakes in my translation.
