| With the fast development of science and technology, many of techniques come into our daily life and are increasingly changing our life style. In Silicon Valley, Elon Musk, who is also called a real-life Tony Stark (Iron Man), has made marvelous accomplishments beyond people's imagination.This is a translation project report of Elon Musk:Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future (Chapter 8), recounting extraordinary experiences of Elon Musk and others' evaluation on him, one of Silicon Valley's most excited, unpredictable and ambitious entrepreneurs. This report consists of four parts. Part one is an introduction to background and significance of this project and structure of the report. Part two deals with the analysis of the source text, which consists of the introduction to the author of this book, main content of the source text and preparations made before the translation task. Part three elaborates on guiding theory, translation difficulties and methods. This project is undertaken with the guidance of dynamic equivalence theory. The difficulties encountered involve abstract and proper nouns,slang as well as long complex sentences. The corresponding translation methods employed here include addition and transcription, use of four-character structure, and recasting. Part four summarizes experience and enlightenment gained, and problems to be solved. |
