With the fast development of world economy, economic globalization is getting faster and faster and modern information technology advances by unprecedented pace. Meanwhile, the mode of translation has changed and collaborative translation is becoming increasingly popular in the translation industry. Collaborative translation is featured by more team work. Accordingly, one of difficult problems faced by collaborative translation is the consistency and accuracy of terms. Along with the internationalization of language services, Terminology Management plays an increasingly important role in controlling translation quality and improving translation efficiency. Thus, as an important part of translation project, terminology management should be taken seriously by all translators.The report is on the author's translation project The Dynamics of Masters Literature(Wiebke Denecke) and is divided into five parts, which mainly focuses on the analysis of translation project, the introduction of pre-translation process, the importance of TM. The report also introduces the terminology base in this translation project of The Dynamics of Masters Literature in detail which involves the establishment and content of terminology base, the retrieving and updating of terminology base. At last, the author studies and summarizes the effects of terminology base and terminology management during collaborative translation. Terminology base is the core of this report.
