| The one-to-one teaching mode is very flexible and is highly individualized. With the vigorous development of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language(TCFL) and the accelerating pace of life, the one to one teaching mode is getting more and more popular. However, the research about the one-to-one teaching mode is still in its infancy in the TCFL circles and there are a lot of gaps that need to be filled.The Berlitz school is a worldwide large-scale language teaching institution which has 138 years of history, 52 kinds of target languages and 550 language teaching centers in 70 countries. All these remarkable achievements can not be saparated from being the important vehicle of the Berlitz Method. Obviously, the Berlitz method must have its advantage.During the one-to-one teaching, time for classes, content of courses, teaching aims and schedule of progress all can be tailored according to the actual needs of the learner, to whom teacher pays high attention and can make the courses more targeted. Combined with the Berlitz Method which emphasizes large quantities of question-and-answer drills and immediately pronunciation correction, could double highlights the advantages of them both. Therefore, this article intends to apply the Berlitz Method to the one-to-one mode in TCFL and will take the first unit of The Great Wall Chinese- Essentials in Communication(Book 5) as an example to demonstrate the teaching process. |
