Expression Of “New Normal” Itemsunder Stated Discourses Construction

The chairman Xi Jinping have used the “New Normal” to described the Chinese economic in an expedition in May 2014. Then the word became popular. It appears in many places such as government documents, government reports and news reports. The thesis expresses the “New Normal” on many dimensions by way of varies perspectives based on many subjects, with the help of the communication theory and discourse theory.Firstly, the author confirms the deficiencies and achievements, after the connection of quantitative studies and qualitative analysis, and review of “national discourse and “New Normal” studies mainland.Secondly, the writer systematically describes the main concepts, which set a theoretical foundation to coming study, including political communication, discourse, national discourse.Thirdly, the writer focuses on the item “New Normal”, and analyzes the origin of the “New Normal”, the “New Normal” under the western context and the “New Normal” under the Chinese context. The conclusion shows three aspects: a comparison between the “New Normal” under the Chinese context and the “New Normal” under the western context, the former is pessimist the later optimism; political attribute owned by the “New Normal” under the Chinese context; the “New Normal” spreading in China around the government communication that guides the “New Normal” spreading in mass communication and organizational communication.Fourthly, this paper throughly analyses the constructing features of “New Normal” under the Chinese national discourse system. It is found that the spread of “New Normal” in China works in this way: centering on the government communications and driving mass communications and other organizational communications. Actually, the overall spread is divided into three steps to walk:to learn,to cognize and to use.Fifthly, the discourse construction of “New Normal” is completed through the meaning explanation, meaning endowment and meaning precipitation. From a broader perspective, the thesis analyze the construction of “New Normal” discourse through communication theories under three views, ranging from power and discourse, information highlighted to context and semantic.Finally, the last is an extending part about the connection of media and political in the time of post mass communication era in this paper.
