The source text is excerpted from the report "Children's Rights in the Digital Age:A Download from Children Around the World" which was published by Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre in October 2014. The source text is a research finding of which the research aims at the impact on children's rights in digital age. It points out that digitization has integrated in people's everyday life, including children's life, therefore the protection initiatives should work with children. On the one hand, the report is of great significance to China where the number of young internet users are mounting rapidly. The related authorities in China can draw lessons from the findings. On the other hand, the translator has learned more translation theories and translation methods and put them into practice in this project. The text belongs to informative text. The translation difficulty of this report is that some often-used words have obscure and exophoric references or connotations in different parts of the source text. Guided by Peter Newmark's theory of typology, the translator has solved the problem by his communicative translation method with three translation tactics:explication, amplification and conversion. The translator aims at making the target text has clear sense and produces the same effect to the target language readership as the source text produces to the source language readership's.This translation project has four parts. The first part introduces the background, significance, authors, publisher and main content of this translation project. The second chapter introduces Peter Newmark's typology theory and analyzes the language style of source text. The third chapter illustrates the translation difficulty and its solutions. The last chapter gives conclusion.
