A Report On Translation Of 2018 Baoan Industry Development Expo From The Perspective Of Text Typology Theory

In the process of economic globalization,convention and exhibition industry appears as an emerging industry to serve as an external communication platform for increasingly frequent trade exchanges and technical cooperation between companies and nations.Since the reform and opening up,China's status in the international market has been unprecedentedly elevated during the process of economic globalization.In order to attract foreign investment and promote international communication,many large-scale conventions and exhibitions are blooming in China.The quality of exhibition publicity materials translation is of great significance for the exchange of information between domestic market and international market.However,translation quality of local expositions is not that satisfying.The author attended the translation project of Report on 2018 Baoan Industry Development Expo.The present study is based on the author's translation practice.The Baoan Industry Development Expo is one of the few local industry exposition in China that aims as promoting both domestic and foreign corporations.The study of translation works of the B-Expo can provide reference for other domestic expositions.The present thesis analyzes the translation principals,strategies and methods adopted in translating exposition report under the guidance of Text Typology Theory,and aims as offering reference and suggestions for translation practices afterwards.The present thesis starts with introduction of the task background and significance,followed by a survey of Text Typology Theory and relevant translation principals.Then,the author discusses translation strategies and methods adopted to deal with translation difficulties in the translation task.The present study contributes to the research of exposition reports and its translation mode,and helps to provide reference for translation standards of such texts.
