A Report Of Consecutive Interpreting At ART AREA-2015 International Art Festival

In recent years, much attention is paid to enhance the national cultural soft power in China, which further promotes the exchange and cooperation in the field of art and culture between China and the rest of the world. In this process, interpreting plays a vital role in eliminating language barriers and deepening mutual understanding.The report is based on interpreting for “ART AREA-2015”. The author selects some typical cases during the consecutive interpreting task and analyzes some interpreting problems in the field of art, especially painting during the interpreting process. Some tentative interpreting strategies and solutions to the related problems are proposed.This report consists of four chapters. Chapter One is the description of the interpreting task. In this chapter, the background, task allocation and the requirements of interpreting practice are introduced. Chapter Two describes the translation process. The author describes the interpreting practice from three aspects, namely preparation, process and summary. Chapter Three is the analysis of interpreting cases based on the guidance of Skopos Theory. The author classifies the problems encountered in the interpreting process. Through case analysis, the corresponding interpreting strategies are proposed. Chapter Four is the reflection of the interpreting practice and the prospects for future study and work.
