With the development of Chinese economy and the promotion of internationalstatus, more and more foreigners come to China to seek better development. It hasbecome an issue of common concern that foreigners work in China. The authorchooses the speech of Why I Came to China by Ms. Jill Ihrig, an American teacher ofthe Foreign Languages College of Qingdao University of Science and Technology, asthe material for her consecutive interpreting practice. Based on this material, the authoruses the translation methods, such as methods of adding,omitting, conversion andanastrophe and some translation theories to summarize the problems that arose in theprocess of interpreting and explores the strategies and methods of solving them.The report is divided into four parts. The first part describes the background andnature of the interpreting task. The second part makes a summary of its preparingprocess and interpreting process. In the third part, the author summarizes and analyzesthe main misinterpreting points, key and difficult points of the interpreting practice. Inthe last part, the author makes a summary of all the interpreting practice. The authorhopes this report will guide her future job of interpreting and provide study materialand support for other interpreting lovers.
