Format could be traced in the early civilization of human beings,and embodied in the wall drawings and scrawling in the caves,as well as the hieroglyphics on mud and animal bones at that time.Thanks to the fast developing science and technology nowadays,software and type setting technologies have progressed greatly,and the aesthetic level of people has also raised.Therefore,the public pays more and more attentions to format design,and the works of format design are more visually pleasant.There is significant correlation between the visual sense psychology and the visual expression of format design.With research on relevant contents such as visual sense psychology,arts and visual sense and thinking.This paper has manifested the relationship between format design and visual sense psychology,and explained in detail the related methods and principles,as well as psychological experience of format design,thus to enlighten people to consider the forms with an viewpoint of visual sense psychology during format design.this paper discuss relevant knowledge and contents about visual sense psychology and format design.Visual sense and visual sensepsychology have been analyzed based on the physiological mechanism of visual sense.Visual dimensions--Brightness,Tone and Space Sense,have been analyzed as well.At last,the relationship between format design and two two psychological phenomenons--Attention and Consciousness,has been explored.The principle for integrating elements of attention and consciousness into format design has been analyzed.The relationship between formal beauty and visual sense psychology in format design has also been analyzed.Based on above analysis,further study on the visual sense psychology during the process of format design has been carried out.
