Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) report is a non-financial report of an enterprise. It summarizes the social responsibilities fulfilled by the company and releases its strategies, measures and performance on the society, culture, economy and environment. In 2015,1703 companies in China issued CSR reports. Meanwhile, an increasing number of enterprises started to release Chinese/English CSR reports to earn international prestige and better carry out the national strategy of "going-out". As CSR report translation is new in translation practice, little research is conducted on it. Thus, the research on CSR report translation is needed and of great significance. The translation project text is Grandall Law Firm Social Responsibility Report 2014. The report concludes the social responsibilities fulfilled by the law firm in 2013, including 6 parts:Preface, Report Profile, Overview of Grandall Law Firm, Fulfillment of Social Responsibilities in 2013, Awards and Honors in 2012, and Conclusion.Based on the text classification (expressive text, informative text and vocative text) and translation approaches (communicative translation and semantic translation) proposed by Peter Newmark, this translation report has given translation examples selected from the translation text to analyze the linguistic style of CSR report and compare the translation versions guided by semantic translation and communicative translation respectively, considering communicative translation as the preferable approach to translating CSR report. The translation report also summarizes translation skills, such as omission and connotation explanation and solves translation difficulties like the translation of long sentences.Chapter one of the translation report introduces the background, significance and theoretic guidance of translation project. Chapter three focuses on the application of communicative translation and translation skills to solving the difficulties encountered in the process of translation.
