| Business English is one of means of communication of foreign economic and trade exchanges, and its importance has become increasingly evident. So, there are more and more business texts which need to be translated from English into Chinese, so that more Chinese can know much more about the knowledge about business activities. As a result, those translations will have a great effect on communication of business.This report is based on Introduction to Business as a translation practice. Introduction to Business is a basic course to understand the business activities. This book includes comprehensive introduction to the theory of international trade, analysis of the market economy and basic knowledge about how to manage business under the market economy system. Translation of Introduction to Business plays an important role in dissemination of business information.In the process of translation, the author uses Eugene Nida’s functional equivalence theory and Vermeer’s Skopos theory respectively from the macro and micro perspective as a guiding theory of translation. On this basis, this report tries to discover the translation methods from vocabularies and sentences dimension. The author takes technical terms, modal verbs, and some adverbial clauses as cases and analysis those cases, which appear in the source text in a large number in this report. In the practice of the process, the author draws some effective strategies of translation, such as, following the original syntactic order, changing the sentence order, adopting the conversion method and reinventing sentence structure. Moreover, the author summarizes limitation and suggestions and is looking forward to providing help for the translation of business texts and the exchange of business knowledge. |
