Moldy User's Manual is the operational manual of molecular dynamic simulation software drawn up by a research group of Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,setting out the translation requirements: faithful to the original text,fluently, with coherent expression.The present paper fully elaborates the background,purpose,as well as makes case study of translation methods on the translation practice.Moldy User's Manual is to guide the scientific research of national academic institution, to implement better application of molecular dynamics simulations,to promote scientific research,and finally to better service the majority Moldy software users.This paper basically presents a descriptive analysis of the translation strategies and techniques adopted in the translation.In this thesis,the author mainly adopted liberal translation,literal translation,conversion......to fully achieve the expected translation targets under the guidance of the Skopostheory of Hans J.Vermeer, as for the preciseness and scientificity of the translated version,it can effectively guide the research of molecular dynamic simulation to some extent.The translation experience and the subsequent reflection of the difficulties and tactics to deal with them have enormous significance for the future study and work of the present author.
