A Report On C-E Translation Of Three Mathematical Modeling Papers

The translation of mathematical modeling papers(from Chinese to English) involves the law of mathematical model, algorithm, mathematical formulas and mathematical terms, etc.. This kind of papers has its own characteristics, which are professional, normative and structured. Thus, it puts forward the corresponding quality requirements to the translation, and also increases the difficulty of translation.This paper is a translation practice report.The names of the translation projects are《基于模糊主成分层次评价模型的平衡供应链计分卡绩效》《模糊语言引导了欧几里得OWA距离的操作员及其在群体语言决策中的应用》and《模糊语言诱导有序加权平均算子闵可夫斯基距离运营商和它在群体决策中的应用》,which are written by Xian Sidong professor from Chongqing University of Post and Telecommunication.The three translated papers are successively published in“Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications”“International Journal of Intelligent Systems”and“Pattern Analysis and Applications”,which belong to core periodicals(SCI2).Translation links include the author’s choice of translation materials,selection of translation projects,translation work,as well as the correction of the translation.The author tries to convey the original texts accurately,fluently and be faithful to the original,to the mathematical terms and some difficult sentences.This report takes the German functional translation theory as the guiding theory, which is called the Skopostheorie and it discusses the language features, strategies and translation methods of this text from two aspects: lexicon and syntax. At the same time, due to the fact that the selected mathematical modeling papers are representative and typical, there is a certain kind of significance from the perspectives of both theory and practice. In theory, through the translation and analysis of the text, the report has tested the instructional role and explanatory power of the German functionalist translation theory in mathematical modeling papers. In practice, the translation of the text has tremendous realistic and practical significance as to the function of communication. Through the practice of translation, it is advantageous to improve the quality of translation, deepen the understanding of the text translation, and further improve the level of translation theory and practice. After writing the report, the author hopes that it can lay a solid foundation for the future translation of this kind of papers.
