The Personality And Behavior Characteristics Of Male Detainees In Detention Center

Objective: This paper mainly discusses the personality characteristics and family upbringing,the relationship between social support,coping styles and the impact of its illegal and criminal behaviors of male detainees in Wuhu in Anhui province first jail.Hope to provide some references for targeted education reformation and personality modification.Methods: According to the cluster sampling method,the author chooses 500 male detainees as investigation object in Anhui province Wuhu first jail.Survey tools include: general demographic information questionnaire,Eysenck personality questionnaire and parenting style questionnaire,social support rating scale;Coping style questionnaire.SPSS₁8.0 software package are used for statistical analysis.Statistical methods including statistical description,correlation analysis,variance analysis,t test,etc are used in this paper.If P<0.05,difference was statistically significant.Results: Detainees personality of each dimension scores compared with norm,psychoticism?P?,emotional?N?were scored significantly higher than the norm,masked?L?the subjects scored significantly lower than the norm,and the difference had statistical significance.Inside and outside to?E?the subjects scored slightly lower than the norm,the difference was not statistically significant.Psychoticism?P?,emotional?N?dimension of age difference statistically significant.Inside and outside to?E?,cover?L?dimension of marriage differences statistically significant.Psychoticism?P?,emotional?N?in the culture degree differences statistically significant.Dimension of psychoticism?P?regional differences statistically significant.Compared with the general population,parents' emotional warmth and understanding?FSS₁??MSS₁?,father's overprotection?FSS₆?,mother punishment?MSS₂?,scoring detainees is lower than the general population;The scores of detainees about punishment for the father?FSS₂?,preference for the father?FSS₄?,the parents refuse?FSS₅??MSS₅?,denial and mother?MSS₃?is higher than the general population,statistically significant difference.The level of culture on the detainees in father emotional warmth,understanding?FSS₁?,father punished,severely?FSS₂?,mother's emotional warmth,understanding?MSS₁?three subscales score difference was statistically significant.Detainees in the understanding of father emotion,warm?FSS₁?,father punished,severely?FSS₂?,mother emotion,warmth,understanding?MSS₁?,punishment and severe?FSS₂?,mother refused to deny?FSS₅?subscales career differences statistically significant.Way of detainees parents each subscales scores and personality traits dimension scores for correlation analysis,the result shows: the father emotional warmth,understanding?FSS₁?,mother's emotional warmth,understanding?MSS₁?and negatively correlated with P scale score,punishment and severe?FSS₂?,excessive interference?FSS₃?and preference?FSS₄??FSS₅?,rejection,deny,punishment,severity?MSS₂?,excessive interference?MSS₃?and preference?MSS₄?,rejection,denial?MSS₅?was positively correlated with P scale score;Father emotional warmth,understanding?FSS₁?,mother's emotional warmth,understanding?MSS₁?was positively correlated with P scale score;Father emotional warmth,understanding?FSS₁?,mother's emotional warmth,understanding?MSS₁?was positively correlated with E scale score.Detainees social support score lower than the norm,the difference statistically significant.Subjective support,self-reproach factor age difference statistically significant.Objective support,subjective support,social support score of marriage differences statistically significant.Detainees degree of social support,self-reproach factor cultural difference was statistically significant.Objective support and total score of social support on regional difference was statistically significant.Social support,problem solving,retreat factors career differences statistically significant.Objective support,subjective support,support utilization degree,social support and negatively correlated with P scale score.Objective support and negatively correlated with E scale score.Subjective support,support utilization degree,social support score was positively correlated with E scale score.Problem solving and negatively correlated with P scale score.Self-blame,fantasy,retreat and rationalization was positively correlated with P scale score.To solve the problem,for help with E scale score were positively correlated.Retreat,rationalization and the N scale score was positively correlated.Conclusion: Jail detainees basic personality present characteristics such as spirit of high quality,the extroversion tendency and the unstable emotions are more clear than the average person.Jail detainees parents parenting style defects extremes which is the family factors leading individuals to crime road.Compared with college students,the detainees have low levels of social support and improper coping styles.Individual choose a crime,the lack of social support,coping styles,improper selection are likely to be important influencing factors.The personality is plastic,so several measures should to be taken to cultivate and develop personality.
