In the fierce competition of the job market, the employment of graduates has been the focus of attention of the whole society. How to improve the employment competency in order to obtain satisfactory work effectively, is an important issue that troubled the graduates. On the basis of literature analysis, this study would apply assessment center to the development of graduates' employment competency, and organize physical intervention training for graduates. The study explored the feasibility of graduates' employment competency based on the developmental assessment center(DAC), summed up the superiority and effectiveness of DAC in improving graduates' employment competency through experimental design. The whole study was divided into two sub-studies:Study One was the construct of the Graduates Employment Competency Questionnaire.In this study, firstly literatures about the employment competency of graduates were reviewed and summarized. On the basis of experts' judgement, the general employment competency was drawed, and the dimensions which could be developed theoretically were extracted, graduates' employment competency model was constructed, then the questionnaire for the preparation and analysis of questionnaire validation was completed. The prediction method of verification questionnaire for confirmation. Preliminary questionnaire anlaysis was carried out, including item analysis, exploratory factor anaylsis(EFA), with modifying and deleting the items. Then the formal questionnaire was made up. Confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) was carried out for the evidence of reliability and validity. The questionnaire was composed of 5 dimensions, namely, self-management, interpersonal, verbal expression, problem solving and adaptive capacity with 22 items in total. The evidence suggested the questionnaire, which could be the tool for further study, was scientific and valid to meet the psychological measurement index.Study Two was to verify the validity of the DAC in improving the employment competency based on the competency model. For the five dimensions, experimental design was carried out, which was divided into experimental group, regular group and control group, the experimental group was implemented by DAC activity intervention; regular group was taught conventional career planning and training; the control group with no measures. Questionnaire was conducted before and after the experiment, with data processing and analysis. The results showed that in different groups, training effect by DAC was the best, subjects in self-management, interpersonal, oral expression and adaptive capacity had been significantly improved, meanwhile problem solving did not change significantly.The study implements the DAC into the development of graduates' employment competency, which complements the competency model. At the same time, the practical application of DAC, which breaks the previous conventional training, is a exploration of the function of DAC. This study has provided a certain reference value for future research.
