The Research Of Tu Ji And Heilongjiang Atlas

Tu Ji was a famous historian,anthropologist,and trecentist.Tu Ji was ordered by the Qing goverment to edit the historical map which were called The Heilongjiang Atlas.This Atlas reflects the basic history and geography situation of Heilongjiang region in GuangXu Years.According to its contents,the Heilongjiang region were divided into several parts by "history,latitude and longitude,territory,mountains,water" and so on.It involved geography,history,territory,ethnic,military and other informations,which provided a basis information about the evolution of Heilongjiang Frontier.Although there were many times of surveying and mapping for Heilongjiang region in Qing Dynasty,the measuring methods of TuJi,the participants of his team and the relegated contents still have a high scientific and documentary value.This thesis is consisted of four parts researching TuJi and his compilation of “Heilongjiang Atlas” from the aspect of philology,history and the language of minority.The first part describes the history of TuJi's academic research.This part starts from TuJi's family background and his foreign experiences.And then analyze his academic thoughts and the formation process of his works.In the end,discuss his talent and achievements in the field of historical science.The second part involves the historical background of Heilongjiang Atlas.Analyze and sort out the construction of Hui Dian Department and the issued constitution of mapping in Guangxu years.In the clue of years,analyze the difficulty and chanllenge of mapping Heilongjiang region.Then briefing the circumstances after the moment when TuJi was appointed as the Chief Editor of Heilongjiang Atlas.At the end of this part draw conclusion that TuJi and Heilongjiang Atlas are kind of his destiny.In the third part,discuss the version and main contents of Heilongjiang Atlas,in the same time verifying the wrong contents of this book,correcting the historical names.In the last part,expond the documentary value of Heilongjiang Atlas in the field of style features,practical value and defects.This thesis provide documentary materials for the research of Manchu language,Mongolian and other minority languages.
