The cultural translation theory is a newly-emerged translating method aiming at conducting culture-oriented studies to improve the quality of translation. At present, the increasing international communication has reminded translators of the importance of cultural translation. Therefore, translators start to positively learn about the culture of western countries but such learning activities lead to a serious result:Chinese start to ignore the most noticeable part of our traditional culture. In order to protect the traditional Chinese culture, Chinese begin to make efforts to translate the text to describe Chinese culture into English and the cultural translation method became the best choice to translate such text. In accordance with the appeal of the central government in the 18th national conference of representatives, large numbers of translators have made their best to spread Chinese culture to other nations. That is exactly the most important purpose of this translation project. This translating project is completed by four students, including the author of this thesis and each of the student is required to complete the task of translating 12,000-Chinese-figure text. In fact the piece of text to be completed by the author of this thesis is the second chapter of the whole text. Translation tools, such as dictionary and network and so on will be used in this translation project, an introduction will also be made on cultural translation strategies, and method to implement these strategies will be revealed through the analysis of the translation of The Story of Leizu. It is verified by the thesis that translators should give sufficient consideration to the cultural information so as to ensure the quality of the translation containing cultural information, and theories and practice of translation are rendered more scientized and systemized by cultural translation. From the perspective of cultural translation, no matter a translator uses the translation strategy of domestication or foreignization or adopts the method of transliteration, literal translation or literal translation with notes, all these are results of conscious communication between translators and readers. There is no doubt that this thesis will be used to spread the unique culture of Sichuan Province in China and can help readers to have a better understanding of the cultural translation method and The Story of Leizu.
