| With the rapid development of global economy and the acceleration of global integration, various technical exchange seminars have become indispensable communication platforms for governments of different levels, social organizations and enterprises with various nationalities, areas and languages to seek international cooperation, expand mutual exchanges, introduce advanced technologies, exchange precocious ideas, promote their business scope and update operation models. Thus, on these communication platforms, seminar interpreting has become a bridge of language communication, and played an indispensable role in ensuring the smooth progress of exchanges.This practice report takes the project of consecutive interpreting for technical exchange seminar between SGCC and REN as background. Taking text analysis theory and interpretation theory as guidance, combining with the lingual features of seminar interpreting, the author summarized some interpreting skills and methods through analyzing the problems occurred in the interpreting process. To reach the research purpose of this project, the author solved different problems with relevant methods and strategies. At the same time, the author collected many terms about energy and grid.This project consists of three parts. The first part is a speech delivered by the general manager of SGCC Tianjin company- Qian zhaoyang, which mainly introduced the operation state and achievements of SGCC and Tianjin company. The second part is a brief statement about REN given by the CEO of REN- Costa. Finally, the two sides conducted a round of experience exchange and expressed their wishes. During this process, the author provides Chinese-English, English-Chinese consecutive interpreting services for both sides.This report aims to introduce the operating performance and strength of SGCC to the world, establish a fine image for SGCC, and express the desire to cooperate with all the leading energy companies worldwide, so as to finish the goal of common development and cope with the issues of global energy and climate. At the same time, the author also aims to provide a reference for the future interpreters in terms of energy and grid. |
