As one representative of the sixth generation directors in China, Jia Zhangke's work has been known as a realist, and have consistently demonstrated a deep concern for the various aspects of Chinese society since the reform and opening up. His works dedicated to representation the lives of ordinary people's relationships, ways of thinking, attitudes change and many other aspects under the circumstances of Reform, expressed his reflection and pursue the deep reason and meaning of social, historical, institutional and human meaning which hide behind the social changes. He treat "I do not shy away" as Art for the principle, treat "I am willing to face the truth, though it's included in our weakness even sordid depths of human nature" as the photography concept, and strive to representation the true and profound from the beginning of reform and opening up to contemporary society mechanism, the changes in the mood of the times, the bottom of people's living condition, reveal many practical problems in the New China, including profound historical connotation.As being different from the emphasis on the research of narrative feature, documentary style, humanitarian and other aspects, this article attempts to use text reading method, combining image and reality, efforts to investigate the true narrative and deep thoughts about New Chinese's society, history, institutions, human nature and other aspects in Jia Zhangke's film. Thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter treat Jia Zhangke's early work which called "Hometown Trilogy"( " Pickpocket ", "Platform", "Unknown Pleasures") as the object, to explore how to use the fate of the people who lived in little town to touch the pulse of the early reform era, analysis the period of complex social reality, show many individual anxiety and confusion, freedom and confusion. The second chapter analyzes Jia Zhangke "World", "Still Life," two works, discuss how he shifted his attention from the hometown to the outside world, the image express the people who leave away from home or the workers who lost their home, to show their reality of the situation, reflection with the deepening of reform appears as a profound impact on the world and the relocation of the international industrial chain division of labor and other issues underlying people's lives and physical and mental; the third chapter focuses on Jia Zhangke's latest film which called " A Touch Of Sin ",which caused great controversy, Investigation daily violence issues cut from the secondary distribution of resources, economic growth theory, the alienation of labor and the existence of structural and other aspects of the gray industrial, analyze the underlying causes of violence in generalized form, Jia Zhangke to explore the history and reality of deepening and Concerned significance.
