With the internationalization of English, interpreting plays an important role in the development of economy. But in fact, most MTI students have little opportunity to get in touch with interpreting practice and have weak language foundation, which is a limitation on interpretation.Through error analysis of 15 MTI students at Dalian University of Technology in consecutive interpreting class, this paper aims at finding out the reasons of errors and coming up with strategies from the perspective of Gile's Effort Model. Together with error analysis, the thesis classifies the errors into influency, pretermission of interpreting and misinterpreting. The thesis further analyzes the reasons of errors and reaches the conclusion of strengthening language foundation, memory training, note-taking training and psychological quality to reduce errors. Therefore, analysis on the interpreting errors not only helps MTI students improve their interpreting ability but is also of great significance for interpreting teaching and researches.The first chapter introduces the research background, research content and research significance of the paper. The second chapter is the literature review of error analysis theory and Gile's Effort Model. The third chapter analyzes students' recordings and questionnaires. The fourth chapter comes up with coping strategies. Students should realize the importance of error analysis and target on the errors to improve interpreting quality. At the same time, interpreting teaching should also focus on interpreting errors. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, which shows the limitaton of the paper and brings up suggestions for future study.
