This practice report aims to analyze the importance of balancing efforts allocation of interpreting under the guidance of Gile’s Effort Model.By recording an on-site interpreting task on Bee Production and Grain and Oil Crops Boosting Workshop,the author identifies the failures and then analyzes their causes in the perspective of effort allocation in interpreting.Based on the analysis,this report suggests how the effort allocation imbalance can affect the C-E consecutive interpreting.To solve the problems,the report highlights the importance of balancing efforts allocation and provides tactics under the guidance of Gile’s theory and other related studies.The author also applies these tactics in her later interpreting,and verifies the effectiveness via a simulated interpreting after the task. |
