Chinese character is a symbol system for recording Chinese language, if Chinese learners whose native language is not Chinese want to learn Chinese, especially to gain the ability of writing Chinese characters, they must grasp enough Chinese characters, and the extent about mastering Chinese characters will directly relate to the level of their Chinese. Nevertheless, Chinese character system is very large, and it has a complicated construction, that makes Chinese characters teaching has always been a difficult point in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. At this stage, among the study of teaching Chinese characters to learners, the study of teaching theory and teaching experience are the majority, but the study of the strategy that based on the feature of Chinese characters are relatively weak, and rarely actually get used. This reflect in the practice of Chinese characters Teaching in TCFL shows as the lack of the teaching method and Instructional design, which has strong motivation, abundant enjoyment, and can convey abundant cultural content about itself. This state that Chinese characters Teaching in TCFL is still in the though exploration stage.As a classic books, BaiJiaXing selected hundreds of family names that usually used, and it is a must-read book for ancient children, and it is also the teaching material that the western missionary used, since they came to China to since the 18 to 19 century. And it carries with the profound cultural connotations, which influences since from ancient times, it not only can play a role of material of Chinese characters teaching to the foreigners, at the same time, it can also be the material of foreign cultural communication and spread. I founded that, the family name characters included in BaiJiaXing are all the most frequent used in ancient daily life communication, and even now, many characters in it are still modern Chinese commonly used Chinese characters. According to my statistics, in Chinese Characters Outline Level, there are 2905 characters, and involves 340 family name characters, and include 141 first level characters that most common seen in the period of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. And not only that, the family name characters in BaiJiaXing, contains abundant Chinese culture, through these Chinese family name characters, learners can not only learn the shapes, sounds and semantics of them, they can also gain insight into Chinese family names and the culture of Chinese family names, comprehend Chinese mode of thinking, and ultimately promote learners'ability of Chinese character learning.This paper selected the 141 characters that has overlapped in BaiJiaXing and Chinese Characters Outline Level's first level characters(hereinafter referred to as first level family name characters), and used them as the object of research and the supporter of Chinese characters Teaching in TCFL, and according to their different motivation, to clarify them and to make lesson design, and I hope it can provide certain teaching strategy.This paper is divided into there chapters:Chapter one is the foreword,mainly elaborated the reason of topic selection, the range of the research object, and the relationship between BaiJiaXing and foreign Chinese character teaching, etc.Chapter two is to investigate the principle and method of characters from the angle of character formation and configuration, and to analyze from the aspect of culture introduction and students'cognitive psychological factors, thus can determine that the Chinese character classification teaching and family names culture teaching is feasible.Chapter three is the preparation of instructional design, including the content of BaiJiaXing, the material of Chinese family names culture, and the preparation of choosen characters.Chapter four is to explain the content of BaiJiaXing and Chinese family names culture, then to select the characters from first level family names characters, and according to characters motivation, to teaching single characters, and based on the it, to teach compound characters.
