Textual Research And Expounding On Poetry Talks Of Mid Southern Song Dynasty

In this paper, the middle of Southern Song Dynasty is defined in the period from 1163 to 1208. Three categories of poetry talks written during this time are selected then are researched and expounded from the aspects of literature and theory.The first chapter:This chapter mainly discussed the development of the poetry in the middle of the internal reasons and external reasons. Generally, the Song Dynasty poetry criticism is closely related to the rise and fall of Jiangxi Poetry School. However, the development of poetry talks is not only influenced by the poetry of Jiangxi poetry school. The author mainly chose the national political, poetic trend and academic thoughts in three aspects, after analyzing the change process of poetry talks system, finally pointed out the development of poetry talks in mid Southern Song Dynasty is not only prompted by the condition of times, but also promoted by the evolution of traditional poetry itself.The second chapter:This chapter explores the biography of Chen Yanxiao, the version of Geng Xi Poetry Talks and its poetic theory as well. Studies on Chen Yanxiao's life is less, and usually only noted the History of the Song Dynasty and the History of the Department to Be Recorded, while ignoring the Epitaph written by Liu Zai for Wu Hanying and his wife Chen Daoyun, the Records of Chi City by Chen Qiqing, the Records of Huangyan County by Yuan Yingqi and and other local literature. The author sums up the historical data about Chen Yanxiao's brother and niece from the Epitaph, then compared the records in official history and Local Chronicles, finally made the textual research of Chen Yanxiao's hometown, family, official career and friendship. Considering the version of Geng Xi Poetry Talks being unknown for a long period, the author examined the citation of the poetry talks in catalogue works since Ming Dynasty, then came to conclusion that it included one volume and two volumes and contrasted several important versions of the poetry talks to reveal the relationship of origin. For various reasons, few scholars have researched to Geng Xi Poetry Talks theoretically. Author comprehensively summarized its poetic theory, and hold that it reflected the political tendency of supporting Yuan You opposing Xining. Besides, with Qing and Qi as the core category, Chen Yanxiao established the correct aesthetic benchmark for new poetry.The third chapter:This chapter explores the version, the time of completion and the poetic theory of Cheng Zhai Poetry Talks. At present, the academic circles mainly focus on the version of the Collection of Cheng Zhai, but less on the version of Cheng ZhaiPoetry Talks. The author compared the version of Cheng Zhai Poetry Talks kept in the Collection of Cheng Zhai and issued separately, then pointed out that the Ming and Qing Dynasties are leveled song edition copy, after that, analyzed the characteristics of several crucial versions of Cheng Zhai Poetry Talks and revealed its version of evolution. There are various statements about the time of completion of Cheng Zhai Poetry Talks. Through analyzing the contents of Cheng Zhai Poetry Talks, the author estimated that the book was completed between 1200 and 1202. The poetic theory of Cheng Zhai Poetry Talks is similar to the poetic thoughts of the poet in his later years. Through interpreting the poetics core and poetry theory of Cheng Zhai Poetry Talks, the author pointed out that with the purpose of peculiar taste in late Tang dynasty, Yang Wanli explored the rules and the skills of writing poetry and expressed the concept that the internal substance is more important than the external form.The fourth chapter:This chapter explores the biography of He Wen, the regulation, value and poetic theory of Zhu Zhuang Poetry Talks. The academic understanding of He Wen mainly from the collection of Tong Jiang written by Fang Hui, the Records of Eight Min by Chen Dao and the Records of Zhejiang by Zeng Jiyun i.e. while there still are many questions and disputes about the biography of He Wen. According to the Pedigrees collected in Shanghai Library, the Author made a specific analysis of He Wen's year of birth and death, name, family and official calendar, then drew the sketch his lineage, basically solved the problem of his life. Zhu Zhuang Poetry Talks is an important compilation of poetry talks. After the compiling style analysis, the author summarized there are two main features:organizing the contents by time sequence, attaching poem after poetry. Through analyzing selection criteria to poetry and poetry criticism in the Zhu Zhuang Poetry Talks in, the author pointed out that He Wen's poetics mainly reflected in three aspects, which are to study Du Fu for the purpose of inheritance and modified the Jiangxi poetics, to emphasize Pre-tang Poetry Thyme and Metrical Poem at the same time, and respected in the poetry of the Tang Dynasty at the same time also affirmed Song poetry achievement.
