As economic globalization accelerates, economic ties between China and other countries are becoming even closer, and various expositions have been held to attract foreign investors. Six provinces in central China start to hold Expo Central China alternately since 2006 as a response to the government's “Rise of Central China” strategy. It not only serves as an important platform for six provinces to promote their investment projects and exchange information, but also a platform for enterprises at home and abroad to seek more partners. Thus, it is a showcase of central China's further opening up. The ninth Expo Central China is held in Wuhan from May 18 to 20. The author is lucky to take on the simultaneous interpretation with text of two conferences: Investment &Promotion Seminar and Signing Ceremony of Major Projects and Introduction to Investment Environment of Six Provinces of Central China and Project Docking. The report is based on the Chinese to English simultaneous interpretation with text of speeches made by government leaders on these two conferences. The speeches have many features in common, covering a wide range of topics such as history, economy, culture and technology, with certain value for academic research. Therefore, the author converted the on-site recording into transcript to analyze the whole process by combing practice with theory. The report begins with description of the task and the process, and then, based on the features of source text, difficulties encountered during the process are analyzed under the principle of deverbalization of interpretative theory. Two difficulties are discussed: the interpretation of four-character phrases and intensive information. Then, the author proposes relevant strategies to deal with these problems so as to improve interpretation skills and achieve high-quality output. Finally, the author discusses several unsolved problems such as high rate of delivery of source speech and effort coordination in the hope of finding effective solutions in the future.
