the Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(the Outline for short) was published in 1992, had great influences in teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and guided HSK well. At present, there are too many research results for the outline. The purpose of this article is collecting and organizing those results and build a database to make a statistic and classification.the Outline consists of the Outline of Grade vocabulary and the Outline of Grade Characters. there were 459 research papers for Grade vocabulary and 94 papers for Grade Characters. Based on the current situation of the Outline, the article made a classification. Research results for the Ouline of Grade vocabulary was based on morphemes, words and phrases: The part of morphemes is about research of same morpheme words including research Chinese and contrast Chinese with foreign language; The part of words is about pronunciation of words, form of words and meaning of words, analyzing the words of same pronunciations forms and meanings Meaning of words, which is more important, refer to different kinds of words like noun, adjective and verb; The part of phrases is almost about idiom of teaching. For the outline of Grade Characters, based on pinyin, form and meaning, this article analyzed the logophonetic polyphone, pictophmetic characters, methods of characters of righteousness. In addition, the article also compiled on curriculum revision opinion. By classifying and concluding these research results, the direction of the Outline research has been shown up. By the way,the result that the Outline research lacks of systematicness becase of the drawback of the Outline has been found. The systematic research of words and characters need to be explored deeply.
