The Arranging And Study On Variant Forms Of Chinese Characters In Zhi Yinpian

Zhi Yin pian is a large dictionary in Ming Dynasty. In the past, the researchers on the "ZhiYin pian" is mainly around its compilation style, the relationship between "SiSheng pianhai", as well as in regard to the status in the history of dictionaries, etc. no one from the point of view of Philology has studied the Chinese characters in it. The dictionary includes lots of Chinese characters, it is worthy of study.The variant forms of Chinese characters of the book, as the materials of this paper, through closure and exhaustive measurements, the paper classifies the Chinese characters into two categories: “YiXie zi” and“YiGou zi”, according to the theory about “YiXie zi” and“YiGou zi” presented by Professor Wang Ning. The paper meticulously analyzed these Chinese characters, then generalizd the glyph type of their variations. In this paper, “YiXie zi” is divided into six categories, including pen-shaped variation, the increase and decrease of the number of strokes, changing the combination of strokes, similar components confusion, part of components' writing variation and change the position of components; “YiGou zi” is divided into two categories: the component variation and the overall variation. The component variation including the increase ? decrease and change of ideographic components, and phonetic component's becoming enriched?simply,or transformed. The overall variation is divided into two parts: both of the ideographic components and phonetic components changed, and all of the components recreated. In the course of the study, we can found "Zhi Yin pian" in Chinese character recognition has made high achievements. It communicates lots of chinese relations which many previous dictionary didn't communicates. At the same time, there are insufficient places, communicating chinese relations which are not Chinese relations.The study of Chinese characters on “ZhiYin pian” has high value. It can provide references for the development of Chinese characters configuration, and for researches on the History of Chinese Characters. In addition, It can contribute to compilation and revision for the large dictionaries.
