Practice Report On The Interpreting Of Patent Operation Meeting At Patent Information Annual Conference

The practice report is based on my simultaneous interpreting practice at Patent Operation Meeting which was held at the National Convention Center in Beijing on September 15 th,2015. At this meeting, Ms. Linda K. Biel made an English speech about patent operation.Based on this speech, I finished this interpreting practice. Based on this practice, I summed up some common problems during simultaneous interpreting and possible solutions to them in order to carry on a study and summary hoping it will be helpful to other interpreters.This report has five parts, including task description, process description, interpreting preparation, case analysis and practice summary. Task description is an overall introduction of the practice, including task source, task contents and task requirements. Process description is the summary of interpreting practice. Interpreting preparation mainly focuses on the preparation of background knowledge and professional vocabulary. Case analysis is based on the interpreting practice of this meeting. By using syntactic linearity, inversion method and other interpreting skills, I analyzed some professional words, phrases and sentences. By summing up the advantages and disadvantages of this practice, I learned some experience and lessons so as to exchange more accurate information and promote mutual understanding effectively in the future.
