Sampling Survey On Uighur's National Commonly-used Language And Orthography Usage Of Yili Prefecture

It is an important part of the language cause of our country to popularize the national commonly-used language and orthography. Since the founding of New China,the Party and the government have always paid much attention to the popularization of national commonly-used language and orthography in ethnic minority regions.Yili Prefecture is a multi-etnnic and mulit-language area. This paper based on the sample investigation,survey of questionnaire and interview,attempts to analyze the current usage of national commonly-used language and orthography of Uighur school-age population in Yili Prefecture. The analysis covers five aspects: the ability,the level,the attitude,t he learning and the usage of national commonly-used language and orthography in different situations. It describes and analyzes the national commonly-used language and orthography distribution in urban and rural areas, gender, age, eduction level, occupation and other aspects. Moreover, from residence, gender, age, migration, education and other professional social factors, this article carries out in-depth studies on the factors affecting the Uyghur using the national commonly-used language and orthography through the method of correlation statistics, summarizes the current tatus and features of Yili Uyghur national commonly-used language and orthography. Besides, suggestions are presented for the Yili Prefecture popularizing the national commonly-used language and orthography.
