Recently, with blooming and rapid development of China economy the international position of China increased. Also the effect of China to the world increased day by day. Consequently most of the countries of the world tend to have a close relationship with China economically and culturally. Furthermore, most of foreigners like to come to China with the purpose of a job opportunity or wanted to have a good understanding about China. These kinds of phenomenon stimulate largely the demand of learning Chinese of people. Therefore, more and more foreigners compelled to choose Chinese learning and it paves the way to have a Chinese trend in every nook and corner of the world.Recently, Chinese language is a very popular language in the University Of Kelaniya Sri Lanka. This thesis is content of literary review of the strategies of Teaching Chinese As a Foreign Language research, results of inspecting in the comprehensive lectures in University Of Kelaniya, the effect on the students and questions that they face in a comprehensive lectures. Also it reflects how the teacher change their strategies and teaching methods in order to achieve a effective results through the teaching process and how the students should change their learning strategies.Throughout the analysis of survey questioners the writer has found the strategies of the teachers are very unitary and lack of exercises to the students(Ex: Group discussions, Listening songs, Watching videos and Presentation). The local teachers pay attention only to teach grammar and improve students writing and reading skill. They don't pay attention to improve listening and spoken ability of the students.In the conclusion the writer has present ideas how to use multiple teaching methods in order to conduct the lecture. And also the writer has pointed out teacher must not limited to the knowledge of the text book and should conduct the lecture in a way to improve the interest of the students. Teacher should pay attention to arrange speech contests, singing competition and make the students to participate in those activities in order to improve their Chinese knowledge. Also the teacher is responsible to use technics when questioning the students and use topics that students are interested in. Besides, teacher should pay attention to make the students participating classroom discussion.
