The Study Of Tang Guizhang's Ci Theory

Tang Guizhang is one of the most important Ci-ology experts in the 20 th century. He has a high achievement in the study of Ci, Ci theory and writing. Tang Guizhang's Ci theory of systematic construction mainly maintains four parts: views of Ci' form and style, writing theory, the history of Ci and the history of Ci studies, criticism and appreciation. The first chapter,mainly is the specific study of views of Ci' form and style, coming down to the song of Ci, melody of Ci, rhyme of Ci, sound of Ci, and discussing aesthetic traits of Ci. Secondly, Tang Guizhang's writing theory is the most important part of his Ci theoretical system. According to his books Writing Method of Ci, and Starts and Ends of Ci, this chapter explains the writing concept of Ci on the basis of practice of writing Meng Tong Ci and Appreciation of Tang and Song's Ci. Thirdly, for Ci history and the study of the history of Ci, this chapter includes the understanding of the origin of the Ci, the writing in the history of space and time to the original meaning of writing. He compiled by The Chronicle of Ci in Song Dynasty and The Annotation of background of Ci to prensent the history of Ci, it also has an important reference value. Otherwise, Tang Guizhang roughly reviewed traditional Ci theory in The Sketch of Ci theory in All Previous Dynasties. In many papers, he also studied Ci' pedigree and Ci-ologies of the Republic of China in late Qing Dynasty. For writers and works in the end, when it comes to Tang Guizhang case study, mainly including the comparative study of Ci and comments on Ci-ologies, we can see his path and method of criticism in Ci. For text appreciation, this part is focused on the study of Interpretation of Ci in Tang and Song Dynasty. From the appreciation, it can not only examine Tang Guizhang'view in selections of Ci, but also can explore the analysis methods, style and the general principle of appreciation to a specific Ci.
