Research On Exhibition Design Of Thematic Museums

The article mainly aims to explore the the design and management strategy of thematic museums in China.The research background,intention,meaning and current status were explored in chaper one.The inner meaning and its related definition were also discussed in chaper two.The definition of museum from American Museum Alliance were introduced in the article to analyse the acurate meaning of thematic museum.In order to better understand this point,the article then tried to explore the classification of thematic museums.The article used the method of The encyclopedia britannica to make the analyse to be more rigid.Then,the origin and development of thematic museums was explained at the end of this chapter.Chaper three was mainly about the design strategy and design methods of thematic museums.And this is the most important chaper in the article.A lot of case studies were conducted in this chapter in order to illustrate the theories more vividly.As for design strtegy,it is important that the immersion should considered as the true value for thematic museums instead of using tradtional way of designing exhibitions in the museum.Thenm the concept of crossover should be valued either as a design team with members from different disciplines for building a museum with better experiences for visitors.The last factor discussed in the chapter is the green design strategy.And this ponit is almost neglected by many exhibition design companies.As for design methods in chapter three,four factors,including visual communication design,spatial design,multi-media design and scenery design were important to construct a better thematic museum.And some excellent thematic museums were discussed in the article to illustrate these design methods.Chapter four was mainly about the management of thematic museums.And this is the further development compared with previous chapters.The design and installation of thematic museums were for a better manipulation of the museum.If the management of a museum was run in problem,then there will be big problems.In the last chpter,the future design trend was discussed.Three factors were raised up: Professional subdivisioned thematic museum design,thematic museum under the influence of high and new technology museum design,open thematic museum.And these three three aspects were explored with the investigation of cureent social develent and technology trend.
