With the development of visual communication design, for our lives it become more and more important, In the presentation, the early traditional paper-based two-dimensional plane has no longer being recognized, the use of visual communication has become increasingly wide range in various fields. The topic of this paper is the study of visual communication design based on the form of public art, visual communication design expansion in public art, making visual communication range becomes widened, and the combination of public art, and the form of public art will be classes expand. Integration of public art and visual communication design make them become a new form of public art, not only has visual communication of functionality and usability, but also has the aesthetic of public art, this form is a new Interdisciplinary of art, it makes public art in our lives richer, and make people get more enjoyment in aesthetic way.The essay initially elaborates the concept of public art, to analysis of public art for the History of the development, predominate the public art regular pattern and the process of change, this new form of visual communication design with a combination of public art public art is the new direction of development, and analyzes the important role of public art for human life and its performance characteristics. After combing the knowledge of public art, based on the visual communication design in full expansion, to describe the visual communication design concepts, characteristics and functions. After analyzing public art and visual communication design in two important components of the theory, then analyze the development situation of the visual communication design in public art.The third chapter of the article, describes the visual communication design in the form of public art with concepts and principles, In the fourth chapter, enumerate the essential factor and the constitute of space environment in visual communication design which based on the form of Public art. Analyze the application concept of overall unity?humanize?ecological and interactivity, then discusses this new form of public art must reflect the functional principle. Ultimately it should be based on Visual communication design in the form of public art, detailed analyze those design elements, to make those classifications of public manifestations in different environments. In chapter five, the conditions of possibility to achievement with visual communication design based on public art form, prospects for new materials and analysis of the possibilities. Finally appreciate the excellent examples of public art achievements which merge the visual communication design, and Introduced its application classification.This study in order to deepen understanding of visual communication design, which based on the form of public art, to merge the public art is a new way for visual communication design, to link those two elements will emerged an interdisciplinary, it will be a new form of public art. It not only has the function of visual communication, but also play a part in the public art deco space environment. Purpose of the study hope to extend the field of visual communication design, broaden its range of applications in the traditional areas.
