Translation is the conversion between two languages. It is an intercultural communication activity. With the deepening of China's reform and opening up, the cultural exchanges between China and other countries are becoming more frequent, the translation is becoming more and more important. Novel plays a vital role in the field of literature. It is a popular style by portraying the characters with different personalities and depicting the rich and colorful plot to the readers. Therefore, the quality of the translation needs to be improved.This is a translation report based on Susan David's psychological novel: Emotional Agility. Susan David is a professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School. From the perspective of women and psychological knowledge, she advocates a new approach to emotional management. People living in modern society, under the pressures from family,career and society, often feel exhausted, losing confidence in life, and unable to live the life they want. In this book, the author describes her opinion and understanding of people's emotion, and proposes a variety of methods to help the readers to regulate their emotions, let the readers feel the beauty of life through the emotional management.The report based on the theory of Newark's communicative translation, to discuss the translation strategies used in the translation process. In the report, there are three main chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the translation task, including the description of the author and the work, the description of the translation project. The second chapter and the case analysis of the third chapter axe the main parts of the whole translation report. The second chapter is a description of the translation process,including the preparation of translation and the description of the translation process. The third chapter is the analysis of different cases, including the selection of the word and the conversion of the word at lexical level and the translation methods like free translation,omission, addition at the syntactic level. The third part focuses on the use of translation methods. The last part is a systematic summary of the whole report, proposing the gains and experiences in the process of translation, and provides the valuable experience for future translation.
