Kazuo Ishiguro is one of the most famous novelist in contemporary British literature.Never let me go was published in 2005,It is a science fiction which regarded human cloning who a controversial subject as leading character.The complex identity of the clones is a worthy and pondering problem to people.The thesis is divided into the following several parts:In the introduction,I will introduce introduce the current research at home and abroad and clarify the research objects and research meaning of this thesis.The first chapter mainly illustrates the theory of the identity and identity to pursue,and discuss the pursuit of identity in Never let me go through the study of Ishiguro's immigration status,social and historical factors and so on.The second chapter is closed related to the childhood of human cloning' hurt,the protagonist grow up in Hailsham where is like home,but the “home warm” behind lost their identity,mainly discusses the clone of ego identity consciousness gradually awakening.The third chapter mainly focus on discussion in the process of growth,analyses the clone Kathy Ruth and Tommy how to solve the crisis of identity loss in the process of their growth,how to find their identity orientation under the cruel fate when they pursue the identity,and complete identity construction.The fourth chapter expounds that the clone reveals the human nature as“non-human” on the basis of further discussion and human shows the inhumanity in front of the clone group,analyzing and criticizing behavior of human egoism.
