Study On The Appointment Of Voluntary Chinese Teachers To Teach Chinese Overseas

The national strength of China is now becoming increasingly stronger worldwide and it is having extensive exchanges with other countries in aspects like economy,culture,education and trade.Thus,it is of great importance to master Chinese under such a global situation.The number of Confucius institutes is increasing day by day across the world and the number of foreigners learning Chinese is growing exponentially.Besides,Chinese is universally acknowledged as one of the languages hardest to learn in the world.And the contradiction between the number of teachers going overseas to teach Chinese and the demand of foreigners to learn Chinese is getting increasingly obvious as well.Facing such a phenomenon,China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language(NOCFL)begins to carry out the program of voluntary Chinese teachers around the world.NOCFL entrusts the program of voluntary Chinese teachers to be carried out by local offices of education and various colleges and universities throughout the country.Every year,there are averagely a considerable number of voluntary Chinese teachers being sent to Confucius institutes and Confucius classrooms around the world.However,how to select and recommend voluntary Chinese teachers to ensure the comprehensive qualities of dispatched Chinese teachers and make sure that they can carry out the Chinese teaching at a high level has become a huge challenge faced by local offices of education and various colleges and universities throughout the country in the current stage.By investigating into the work done by Education Bureau of J during the process of selecting and dispatching voluntary Chinese teachers,the paper aims to summarize the deficiencies of Education Bureau of J in work and come up with rational solutions to the problems presented,in the hope of increasing the number of participants signing up for the program of voluntary Chinese teachers at local offices of education and various colleges and universities,improving the rate for the candidates of voluntary Chinese teachers to pass the test and interview organized by NOCFL,and promoting the successful experience of Education Bureau of J in carrying out the program of voluntary Chinese teachers among other regions.Meanwhile,it also provides certain help for NOCFL to carry out the recruitment of volunteers across the country.
