Study On Social Responsibility Of Hazardous Chemicals Enterprises In China Under The Perspective Of Ethics

In modern society,hazardous chemicals have been widely used in almost every aspect of people's lives,which not only bring great convenience but also tremendous disasters to human life and environment safety.Therefore,the research on evoking the hazardous chemicals enterprises' consciousness of crisis and self-discipline to rebuild their ethics to undertake their corresponding social responsibilities is of urgency and importance.Based on summarizing and combing the related research literature at home and abroad,the thesis firstly defines the concept,content and characteristics of corporate social responsibility,distinguishing the social responsibilities of the hazardous chemicals enterprises from those of other general ones for their high risk products needing moral solutions.Secondly,detailed analyses are given to the exemplification and reasons of the lack of the hazardous chemicals enterprises' social responsibilities in the people's livelihood,environmental protection and public affairs,etc.Thirdly,for the purpose of solving the above issues in ethics,and based on the moral capital theory,the thesis demonstrates both the moral behavior for the hazardous chemical enterprises to fulfill social responsibility and the agent behavior to pursuit economic interests can be coordinated.In addition,analyses are given to the internal and external pressures for the hazardous chemicals enterprises to undertake socialresponsibilities and the ethical motivations to increase its profit.Next,based on the stakeholders theory and the social contract theory,the thesis interprets the ethical principles that the hazardous chemicals enterprises should abide by when carrying their social responsibilities,which Especially emphasis on some personalized ethical principles,such as public welfare first principle,cautious development principle and the relevance of drifting responsibility.Finally,the thesis puts forward the ethical measures that the hazardous chemicals enterprises should take when carrying out their social responsibilities in terms of government,enterprise,social intermediary organization and staff member.The measures include perfecting impartiality rules and standards,strengthening the law-enforcing supervision of the hazardous chemicals enterprises' social responsibilities;establishing the mechanism of revealing,evaluating and checking how the hazardous chemicals enterprises carry out their social responsibilities with the help of the intermediary organizations;strengthening the leaderships' view of moral capital and establishing the ethical culture and the management mechanism for the hazardous chemicals enterprises to carry out their social responsibilities;Promoting the consciousness of sanctifying the value of life,safety and moral accomplishment for both the staff members and customers.To sum up,the findings of the research has important reference significance on guiding the hazardous chemicals enterprises toundertake their social responsibilities as well as formulating the national supporting policies.
