The Archaeology Research Of Ba Culture's Military Relics In Chongqing Three Gorges Region

Ba culture is a distinctive local culture in southwestern ancient China.It originated in western Hubei Three Gorges region and developed in Chongqing Three Gorges region.Ba people admire white tiger and advocate force,good at fishing and hunting,making salt and forging various types of bronze weapons,musical Instruments and have their Own decorations and symbols.The study of Ba culture started in the 1950 s,since the 90s,as the Three Gorges project began,Ba culture started to develop rapidly.Now Ba culture's sites finding in Chongqing Three Gorges region's period is mainly in the Shang and Zhou dynasties,mainly distributed in Wushan,Zhongxian,Yunyang,Fuling,Wanzhou,etc,which contain a large number of military relics,analyze them is not only a practical application of military archaeology,but also can help to improve and perfect the research context of Chongqing Three Gorges' Ba culture,and also to enrich the cultural connotation of Ba culture.This paper analyze military records in ancient Chinese literatures about Ba culture,select many important relics from Chongqing Three Gorges region found in more than 60 years as the basic data.Also,this paper contains,such as,analyze in detail the characteristic of Ba's bronze wares and its typical decorations and symbols,military sites(including the military regional center for human settlements,war cemeteries,Three Gorges traffic arteries,defense works and weapon manufacturing sites,etc.),and Ba with Chu and Ba with Shu's military exchange's relices.These parts are from the research range of military archaeology.What's more,author has proposed her own view on some related issues.
