This study was a part of "Hunan province rural left-behind children’s mental health research", which conducted by Hunan agricultural university that was entrusted by Hunan province women’s federation, I participated in rural left-behind children actively quality survey at Lei Yang county. To study the relationship between mental health and rural left-behind children’s sense of hope, to compared the left-behind children with non left-behind children, discuss whether can be raised the level of mental health of left-behind children by improving the left-behind children’s sense of hope.Through questionnaire investigation to inquiry the five county-level administrative region of Hunan province of 15 school grade three, grade five, grade 8, grade 11 children as well as to interview the guardian. To learn the basic situation of left-behind children and un-left-behind children’s sense of hope and the mental health level and so on, discuss left-behind children and non left-behind children sense of hope and body health.The results showed that:(1)Rural left-behind children’s mental health were significantly lower than non left-behind children.(2)Grade 3 left-behind children’s mental health were significantly lower than that of five grade and grade 11 left-behind children, grade 8 left-behind children’s mental health were significantly lower than that of grade 11 left-behind children.(3)The psychological health of the rural left-behind girls less than boys.(4)Rural non left-behind children’s sense of hope is significantly higher than that of rural left-behind children.(5)Grade 3 rural left-behind children’s sense of hope is significantly greater than that of grade five; Grade 11 rural left-behind children’s sense of hope is significantly greater than that of grade 3, grade 5 and grade 8 left-behind children.(6)Rural left-behind boys’sense of hope is significantly higher than that of girls.(7)The higher the score of rural left-behind children hope, the lower score of mental health of rural left-behind children.
