| This practice report is based on the simulation interpretation of the documentary “Israeli Innovation”.Israel is an innovative country along the Belt and Road.China’s cooperation with Israel in innovation, science and technology and education is getting closer. In this program, the guests had a discussion and communication on the bilateral cooperation. The author simulates the interpreting site of the program and analyzes the problems found in the interpretation.Complex sentence structure, fast speech and information fragmentation make it hard to clarify the sentence structure of source language.Problems appeared in the process of simulation can be generally divided into three types: information loss, disfluency in expression and long reaction time. The main reason for information loss is the complex sentence structure in source language.Based on the analysis of the problems, the author put forward reconstructing sentence structure based on Eugene A.Nida’s Functional Equivalence theory,so as to ensure dynamic equivalence between source and target texts.Causes for disfluency and long reaction time are back interpretation, improper pauses and insufficient short-term memory, recommended countermeasures include enhancing language skill and improving short-term memory.Other interpreters may encounter same problems as the author;it is expected that this report can provide some useful help for other interpreters in their work. |
